GAME ON THE CONVEYOR BELT: DIM THE LIGHTS, SPOTLIGHT ON!
In 2007, Schiphol Plaza underwent some serious refurbishments. The opening of the new plaza was a grand event. Festivities included workshops, demonstrations and performances of Karin Bloemen, among others.
One of the highlights during the opening weekend was the famous game show of Dutch television host Mies Bouman: ‘Dim the lights, spotlight on!’ Especially for this occasion, the conveyor belt had been entirely converted into a giant game with conveyor. The sound system, LCD screen and candidate chair were all there.
One candidate sat down at the bar and saw the products from the shopping centre pass by. If he could remember the right order in which the products passed, he could keep them. The audience too was fully engrossed.
